Eligibility

Use our checklist to see if you are eligible to qualify for a free Air Source Heat Pump and Bill Support Programme

 

You will be eligible for support for this programme if you meet the criteria below for both your household and property.

All offers of support are subject to survey, eligibility checks and subject to terms and conditions.

Householder Eligibility:

​

A member of the Eco Help to Heat Group due to receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)

  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Income Support

  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit (PGGC)

  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)

  • Child Tax Credit (CTC)

  • Universal Credit (UC)

  • Housing Benefit

  • Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC)

  • WHD Core Group recipient

  • Child Benefit with income and household composition within the following limits:

Or

​​

Living in a household verified through the ECO Flexible eligibility route due to:

​

  • Route 1: Your total household income from all sources is under £31,000
     

  • Route 2: You meet a combination of these criteria:

    • Live in a Low Super Output Area (LSOA) or a Data Zone 1-3 (England, Wales, Scotland)

    • Your household receives a Council Tax reduction (low income)

    • Your household is vulnerable to living in a cold home as identified in the NICE guidance

    • A child who lives in your household receives free school meals due to low income

    • Your household was referred under a Local Authority run scheme

    • Your household was referred to the Local Authority for support by your energy supplier or Citizens Advice for struggling to pay for energy bills
       

  • Route 3: You have an NHS referral confirming someone in  your household has a severe and/or long-term health condition that could be severely impacted by living in a cold home. This may include:

    • A cardiovascular condition,

    • A respiratory disease,

    • Limited mobility, or

    • Immunosuppression.

AND, either:

  • Someone in your household has a chronic health condition

​

Or​

  • A child who lives in the household who is in school years 3 to 7 and receives free school meals

​

Or

  • Someone in your household is over 70 years of age

​

AND

  • You are a homeowner

​

Or

  • You privately rent your property and have approval by the landlord to apply

​

Property Eligibility:

​

Your home is not heated by mains gas.

​

AND

​

You’re living in a property with an electric credit meter or smart meter

​

AND

​

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of the property before an installation confirming a rating of D, E, F or G for homeowners or E, F or G for private tenants.
 

Please note: Confirmation of eligibility for support is at the absolute discretion of the Connected for Warmth scheme.
